Zhang Binglei,Xu Jinliang and Xiao Zejun

Strategic Study of CAE 2007, Volume 9, Issue 12,   Pages 86-93

Abstract: Pressure drops of flow boiling in a single microchannel having low aspect ratio were studied with effectsThe present experimental data were compared with the predictions of the homogeneous flow model and separatedflow model respectively. The comparison indicates that the homogeneous flow model cannot predict the twophase pressure drop wellflow model also failed to predict the twophase pressure drop in the microchannel of this study .

Ping ZHANG, Guoliang DING

Frontiers in Energy 2010, Volume 4, Issue 4,   Pages 535-541 doi: 10.1007/s11708-010-0113-y

Abstract: stitution (SS) method is a suitable approach to solving the transient distributed-parameter model forHowever, this method must be enhanced because its convergence heavily depends on the iterative initial pressureWhen the iterative initial pressure is improperly assigned, the calculated flow rates become negativeA predictor is developed to determine an appropriate iterative initial pressure.Total fluid mass is adopted as the convergence criterion of pressure iteration instead of outlet flow

Flow and thermal modeling of liquid metal in expanded microchannel heat sink

Frontiers in Energy   Pages 796-810 doi: 10.1007/s11708-023-0877-5

Abstract: Liquid metal-based microchannel heat sinks (MCHSs) suffer from the low heat capacity of coolant, resultingThe flow and thermal modeling of expanded microchannel heat sink (E-MCHS) were analyzed by both usingthe 3-dimensional (3D) numerical simulation and the 1-dimensional (1D) thermal resistance model. The fin efficiency of E-MCHS was derived to improve the accuracy of the 1D thermal resistance model. The expanded space endowed the heat sink with lower pressure, which might further reduce the pumping
